MANAGING DIRECTOR | NATIONAL STRATEGY
John is Managing Director at Rue and joined the firm to expand the business to the New York market in addition to maintaining a national advisory practice. Prior to Rue, John served as Vice President of Acquisitions for Equinox for 11 years. While at Equinox, John handled growth strategy, new market selection, site acquisition, and deal negotiation for a broad territory domestically and in Canada, spanning from the Midwest and Texas to the East Coast. John’s efforts directly contributed to a period of substantial growth for the business, sourcing profitable and brand-enhancing infill and expansion locations.
In addition to transactions, he oversaw a national network of broker and landlord relationships, new club proforma modeling, and post-opening asset management, reporting directly to the executive team. John concluded complicated lease and purchase transactions in a variety of urban and suburban asset classes, including high-rise residential and office properties, mixed-use projects, shopping malls, single-tenant structures, former industrial properties and planned new developments. John also ran SoulCycle’s expansion efforts in certain domestic markets.
Prior to Equinox, John was a Director at global commercial real estate firm Newmark, where he focused on tenant representation. He is a graduate of Cornell University and a New York City resident.
